Pre-Care Instructions
24–48 Hours Before Your Appointment

Do not consume alcohol or recreational drugs for at least 24 hours prior. These can increase bleeding and affect pigment retention.

Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements unless prescribed by your physician. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, niacin, and certain herbal supplements.

Limit caffeine on the day of your appointment, as it can increase sensitivity and bleeding.
Skin Preparation
-
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin in the treatment area. No lotion, oils, sunscreen, or active skincare products.

Avoid retinol, exfoliants, chemical peels, or strong acids on the area for at least 7–10 days prior.
-
Do not wax, thread, tweeze, or use hair removal products.
-
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanner on the area.
Medical & Health Considerations
Please notify me before booking or as soon as possible if you:

Are pregnant or nursing

Have diabetes, autoimmune conditions, or immune disorders

Have a history of keloid scarring
-
Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
-
Have active skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, infection, rashes, open wounds)

Are prone to cold sores (lip blushing clients may require antiviral medication)
-
Are taking Accutane (must be off for at least 6–12 months)

Have had recent surgery in the area being treated
Day of Your Appointment
-
Eat a full meal before arriving to help stabilize blood sugar.

Stay well hydrated.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. (button down shirts are great for nipple tattoos)

Choose darker or older clothing in case of pigment transfer.
-
Bring layers if you tend to get cold.
-
Glasses are preferred over contact lenses for eyeliner appointments.
Comfort & Expectations
-
Cosmetic tattooing is a process that requires patience and cooperation. Arrive relaxed, well-rested, and on time.
-
Avoid scheduling major events immediately after your appointment, as mild redness or swelling is normal.
-
Results will appear darker initially and soften significantly (by 50%) as healing occurs.

Post Care Instructions
Immediately After Your Appointment
-
Gently apply clean pressure to the tattooed area once every hour for the first day using a clean paper towel or cotton round.
-
This helps absorb lymph fluid, reduce swelling, and prevent excessive scabbing.

Do not rub or wipe aggressively. Use steady firm pressure only.
-
Keep the area clean and dry for 24-48 hours.
Cleaning & Care (Days 1–7)
-
Clean the area gently once in the morning and at night with antibacterial liquid soap, and pat dry with a paper towel.
-
Apply a very thin layer of unscented normal lotion (Eucerin, Cetaphil) after the skin has barely begun to scab (48 hours typically) More is not better.

Allow the area to breathe, avoid heavy creams, occlusive products (like Aquaphor of Vaseline), or makeup on the treated area.
What to Avoid During Healing
-
No swimming, hot tubs, saunas, or long hot showers for 7–10 days.
-
Avoid sweating, heavy workouts, and excessive heat for the first week.
-
Do not pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin, AT ALL, this can cause pigment loss or scarring.
-
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. Once healed, use SPF to protect your results.
Skin Products & Treatments

Do not apply retinol, acids, exfoliants, or active skincare products on the area until fully healed.
-
Avoid facials, waxing, lasers, or chemical treatments near the tattooed area during healing.
Normal Healing Responses
-
Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and flaking are normal.
-
Color may appear darker or bolder at first and will soften as healing progresses.
